Facebook Introduces Closed Captions To Live Videos
“Today’s milestone represents the next step in our efforts to make content on Facebook accessible to more people. It’s already possible to add captions to non-live videos when uploading them to Facebook Pages, and publishers can use our speech recognition service to automatically generate captions for videos on their Pages,” Facebook said.
The new feature works such that if your captioning settings are turned on, you’ll automatically see closed captions on Live broadcasts when they’re available.
Before now, It was possible to add captions to non-live videos when uploading them to Facebook Pages, and now, publishers can use Facebook’s speech recognition service to automatically generate captions for videos on their Pages.
Well, this is another one from the stables of Mark’s Facebook and I must say that it is nothing short of creative. They have actually been meeting up to the scale that they do want to include everyone in the facebook community. That moment when the number of people on facebook would be more populous than an entire continent, if they aren’t already, is coming.
